Happy {almost} May everyone! I’m starting to get pretty excited about the upcoming photography season! Looking forward to spending many mornings and evenings on the beach. Our calendar this month features Summer’s Serenity, which you may recognize from the cover of our 2013 calendar. Somehow it slipped through the cracks and not only never became a downloadable calendar, but it also hasn’t been available as a print in our shop until now. On the bright side, it’s a nice summer preview for the month of may. Enjoy!

March 2013 Desktop Calendar

March 2013 Calendar blog March 2013 Desktop Calendar

I can’t believe it’s already time to share our March desktop calendar! February just flew by! Which is fine by me since it’s my least favourite month of the year. Our calendar this month features Unbridled Wonder from my recent shoot in Springbank Park one foggy morning. You can download yours here:

March 2013 Calendar - iPad (1024 x 768 pixels) (89)

March 2013 Calendar - Regular Screen (works well with screen resolutions of 1280 x 800, 1440 x 900, and 1920 x 1200 pixels) (152)

March 2013 Calendar - Wide Screen (works well with screen resolutions of 1366 x 768, 1920 x 1080, and 2560 x 1440 pixels) (120)

And you can see our whole archive of calendars here: Downloadable Desktop Calendars.

We’re slowly transitioning from the reflecting and goal setting part of the year to the planning to make it happen part of the year. This month I’m going to start figuring out what we’ll be growing in our garden, plot out the paths for a few new photo series, and wind down some of this winter’s indoor home projects. What are you up to in March? Do you have plans to flee to someplace warm? Are you dreaming up what your garden will bring in the coming year? Or are you getting your house all dolled up for spring?

February 2013 Desktop Calendar

February 2013 Calendar Blog February 2013 Desktop Calendar

February is my least favourite month of the year. It’s frigid and I hate shovelling. It may be the shortest month but to me it feels like the longest. I’m going to hunker down at the studio, dream about my future, and continue setting goals for the coming year.

I hope you enjoy our Newfoundland landscape calendar featuring one of our newest photographs Romp. You can download yours here:

February 2013 Calendar - iPad (1024 x 768 pixels) (79)

February 2013 Calendar - Regular Screen (works well with screen resolutions of 1280 x 800, 1440 x 900, and 1920 x 1200 pixels) (159)

February 2013 Calendar - Wide Screen (works well with screen resolutions of 1366 x 768, 1920 x 1080, and 2560 x 1440 pixels) (77)

February 2013 - Facebook Cover (850 x 315 pixels) (76)

You can see our whole archive of calendars here: Downloadable Desktop Calendars. Facebook has recently updated their policies for cover photos on business pages banning images that are more than 20% text or containing web addresses, among other things. So I’m thinking that means no more Facebook cover calendars, which is too bad since it gets about 60 downloads a month, so clearly someone out there is digging it. What are we going to do instead? We’ve made a calendar-less Facebook cover image.

What do you think? Do you prefer a Facebook cover image without a calendar? What are your thoughts on it including our logo? Do you think Facebook has gone too far? And what are your plans for February?

November 2012 Calendar blog November 2012 Desktop Calendar

October has certainly been a beautiful month! Scattered with sunshiny days and gorgeous orange foliage. Ahhhhh… And the bounty of a great harvest season is filling the farmer’s markets and our fridge. Fantastic! November is almost upon us, a time when I’ll finish putting our yard to bed and preparing our home for winter. I definitely want to bring some bits of nature inside to keep us in good cheer through the winter months. And try to figure out a way to make our house a bit more log cabin chic.

On our blog you can expect to see the last few photographs from my Artist in Residency on Beausoleil Island, what life is like on the island, a review of an iPad photo app, and the strides I’m making to get more sleep.

I know I’m a bit early this month with November’s desktop calendar, but I have it all ready and I can’t resist sharing it with you! So here you go, this month we’re featuring my recent panoramic photograph from Beausoleil Island called Warrior. You can read a bit about the evening we made this image in a recent blog post.
