“Because starting my day watching the sunrise while I stand alone on a quiet beach is magical, inspiring, uplifting, and really healthy for my soul.”
~ Jennifer Squires Ross
Who We Are
Well hello! We’re pleased to meet you!
I’m Jennifer Squires Ross and together with my husband Darren Ross we run a photography business out of our home in London, Ontario, Canada. I specialize in picture making and Darren is fondly known as the CFO (chief fax operator), he takes care of administrative tasks, plus he makes a mean hot chocolate; earning himself extra points at 5am when I’m off to a location shoot.
Background
I’m a minimalist photographer that was featured in Photo Life Magazine’s “2009 Emerging Photographers” and I specialize in landscapes, seascapes, travel, and food. I’ve been successfully selling prints online since 2008 to destinations around the world including Canada, USA, Australia, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. You can also license my photographs online via Getty Images.
I’ve been photographing professionally since 1996, but I’ve been making pictures my whole life. I hold two diplomas in photography from Fanshawe College, London, Ontario and I was later asked back to teach. After college I began work as a Producer and First Assistant at an advertising photography studio in Toronto, Ontario. In 2005 I moved back to London to photograph full time, and opened our online shop in February 2008. Lately I’ve been very fortunate to show my work publicly, you can find out more about when and where on our events page.
I love great, simple design, homes (both inside and out), rejuvenation, and food. My dream is to incorporate my style of photography with editorial and advertising imagery for spas and resorts. Peacefulness and mindfulness is such an important part of life and I want to create tranquil visual reminders for people to relax and take time for themselves.
Landscape Photography
My current passion is peaceful seascape photographs for the simple reason that starting my day watching the sunrise while I stand alone on a quiet beach is magical, inspiring, uplifting, and really healthy for my soul. These images are complimented by winter landscape photographs that help me to see the beauty of the season, and keep me busy when the lakes are frozen.
