Have you seen the Benjamin Moore colours for 2016? Their colour of the year is Simply White, which I’m sure will be controversial. I mean, it is white. We use Simply White in our home whenever white is in order – which is mostly ceilings, trim, doors, and inside closets. It’s a nice shade that stays relatively neutral in a bunch of different light sources.
I love the look of a white room but we can’t seem to pull it off at our house. We’re both artists, well in Darren’s case an artist-at-heart, and the fruits of our maker souls are in various stages of completion, and a white room just highlights all those things that aren’t tucked quietly away. Though I have often dreamt about textured white walls, like painted planks or bead board, I’m sure you’ve seen them around. It looks so nice with rustic woods and neutral, natural textures that I could just curl up inside for a nice long nap. Soooo dreamy…
I’ve put together a few inspiration pieces for those of you who are looking to use the 2016 colour palette in your space, all of which work lovely with Simply White.
