The Year of the Abstract Photograph

Favourite Abstract Art 2016

It was 7am and I’d already been out photographing for a few hours but I still didn’t have anything I loved. I was lost and frustrated and uninspired. I was beginning to feel like I’d exhausted all my locations and I didn’t know what to do. So I experimented with my first abstract image. I moved my camera a bunch of different ways during my long exposures creating all kinds of patterns and streaks of light.

I was in love. I fell fast and hard.

It started with the odd abstract here and there, just to get my brain into a new and fresh place. But by 2016 it was all I could think of. It was the only art I wanted to make. And looking back on the past year it seems you’ve loved them too. Your favourites have been Spring Shore, Coyote in the Woods, Sandy, and Bubblegum Elephant, you’re smitten with the coastal vibe.

Abstract Landscape Art - Indigo Escape

My recent favourites are Julie’s Jive and Indigo Escape. They hold a certain timelessness. A feeling of nostalgia and happy memories I want to hold onto forever.

Thank you so much for all your support and encouragement over the past year! I have the world’s best clients and I’m eternally grateful to do what I love every day.
