I’m always redesigning our house. In my head. And on Instagram and Pinterest.
I’m constantly changing the look, feel, and energy of our home. And dreaming that we had just a tiny bit more space. And a lot more sunshine.
But really who isn’t? And who doesn’t?
Sometimes I wonder if I should have been a designer. But then I’d have to give up at least some of my beach time.
So come along with me and dream of light and airy homes with some of my favourite interior designers, and suggest some of your must-follows in the comments:
Bright white rooms accented with dark blues, greys, and wood tones, and a dash of coastal rustic architectural textures.
Clean lines, natural woods, and black accents make Allison’s home a calming modern retreat. It’s no surprise that she uses her environment to influence her mental wellness.
Upscale and ever-so-slightly feminine, Lindye uses all my favourite shades of blue (let’s face it, which shade of blue isn’t my favourite?!) in rooms that are primarily white or light grey with touches of wood and sparkly metal. But what makes her designs even more special is the way she combines patterns and textures that make a room feel luxurious but not overwhelming.
Her designs are playful, fun, and relaxed. Plus there’s a nice mix of DIY (which thrills my inner maker) and lots of styling tips and behind the scenes peeks in her Instagram stories.
Sophisticated, elegant, yet handsome. More of that same colour palette I love – bright whites with neutrals – but with a cozy lived-in feel. Plus they’re Canadian, so their designs balance coastal style with our chilly weather.
Which types of accounts do you follow on Instagram? Do you stick with family and friends? Artists? Celebrities?
PS. I’m on Instagram too! And I’d be honoured if you followed me. I share my life in photos and stories including behind the scenes of photographer life, our home decor adventures, and bite-size pieces of what’s new in my world. You can find me at @jennifersquiresross
