I’m sooo excited to share with you my new abstract spring flower photographs next week! I had a lot of fun making them, and I love showing sneak peeks to family and friends and hearing what they see when they look at them.
This year winter was long and cold and I was aching to make beach photographs, but really not interested in standing on the snow covered shore at 7am when it was -5C and windy. I’d been tossing around the idea of making more flower photographs, but I also wanted to experiment with something a bit more abstract with a modern, slightly coastal vibe.
So when my mom came to visit for Easter and brought a bouquet of yellow and red tulips, I figured it was as good a time as any to play. I was thrilled with the result and that’s how last month’s wallpaper came to be. Since then I’ve been experimenting with colour, light, exposure, and technique, and I’m looking forward to releasing my new images soon.

In the meantime, here’s another little sneak peek, this time as part of June’s wallpaper. I know I’m a bit early this month, but I’ve got a whole list of other things to write about in the coming weeks, so this way you can get your desktops all dolled up early in anticipation.

I’ve also put together an iPhone wallpaper so you can take a little bit of spring with you wherever you go.
