Magnolia #4, 8″ x 10″ modern fine art photograph

I’ve finally completed my Magnolia 2009 series!  This last photograph highlights the inner workings of a magnolia flower, which is a pretty typical viewpoint for magnolia photographs.  What makes my image different is the beautiful soft colours and shallow focus.  I love the way this photograph has a slight under water feel, I can imagine the petals and stamen waving in the current.

I’d also like to take a moment to thank my neighbour Joyce for letting me snatch these blooms from her tree.  She was very nice when I knocked on her door and introduced myself and quite happy that I wanted to preserve the beauty of her tree.  Thanks Joyce!
