I was sad last spring when Meghan Markle closed her blog, The Tig, and sadder still when she deleted her social media accounts a few weeks ago.
I get it, since moving in with Prince Harry her life has changed dramatically, I mean, who’s got time to be running all these different online accounts? I know I barely do, and I’m not half as busy as she is.
Plus, a girl’s gotta have her privacy right?
But I love the way she spoke. The way she wrote. How she encouraged and how she inspired.
And I love her style. Both fashion and home decor.
Her Toronto home was Scandinavian-coastal-feminine-chic (which is a term I’m pretty sure I just invented) that perfectly married the nordic with the beach while still being pretty.
She used a lovely mix of new and antique, in light neutrals and gold metals. Think comfy-cozy white sofa layered with soft grey striped blankets, atop a light grey patterned rug. Gold and glass accent tables are complemented by an antique gold mirror. Her art is modern and slightly minimal and often beach themed, and her vases filled with fresh flowers.
Meghan, you can come decorate my house any day. I’ll bring the wine!
PS. I love adding a splash of the beach to my living room using art! This large horizontal statement photograph, Sandy, works great above the sofa or on an accent wall (where you can see it from the sofa).
