Here’s a few tips for how the desktop version keeps my screen neat and tidy:

1. I rotate my wallpapers frequently – Changing my desktop background monthly reminds me that it’s time to clear away any unnecessary icons or files. A clean and organized workspace really does help to reduce my distractions.
2. I categorize – I try to keep files in the appropriate areas of the wallpaper depending on how I’m using them, or what needs to happen to them next. I do a quick review every day to sort through any new icons that have landed on my desktop.
3. I de-clutter – Every Thursday I clear out the documents in the File section, moving them to where they actually belong.
4. I match my wallpaper to my style – I love having a calming coastal-themed wallpaper! Not only do I love the beach but the minimalist vibe makes it easier to find the file I’m looking for.

A well-organized desktop definitely increases my productivity and fills me with serenity every time I look at it. I hope it inspires you too!
