On a winter drive up Nairn Road north-west of London I came across this ridge in a farmer’s field with it’s gang of five trees. I love that one evergreen, it’s clearly the leader of the pack. Something about these trees remind me of Reservoir Dogs, you know, the photo of them walking confidently yet casually in their suits and sunglasses. Or maybe I’ve just spent too much time driving the back roads.

Where are your favourite places to go on a winter drive? Through farmland? Forested areas? Downtown at dusk with all the twinkle lights lit up? Along the water’s edge with nothing but ice as far as the eye can see?

Thanks Ally! I’m never sure if people enjoy hearing my thoughts from the day an image was made, so it’s nice to hear you do. Enjoy!

The simplicity of this picture does make it remarkable. All of your photos have an artistic flare to them. The snow here eliminates all the distractions and really focuses your attention onto the evergreen as it’s the only color in the photo.
