Print Information

What is the difference between Open Edition Photographs and Limited Edition Photographs?

Open Edition Photographs are printed without a pre-set limit to the number of copies that will be made. Because of the volume that we are able to print from each image we are able to offer them to you at a lower price, so it’s a simple way for you to save a bit of money.

Limited Edition Photographs are only available in a limited quantity that we set when we first release a photograph. Limited Edition Prints are signed and numbered on the front making them collectible pieces of art. Because of the finite number of prints we’ll be making, these images are priced slightly higher than our Open Edition Photographs. After we’ve reached that predetermined number no more prints will be made of that image. Ever.

What is the actual image size? Is there a white border?

Open edition photographs are printed full bleed, which means the image goes edge to edge without a white border. Limited editions have a white border within the size listed, this is where I will sign, title, and number your photograph, plus it makes it a lot easier for you to mat and frame. Borders are typically a minimum of 1/2 inch on each edge, slightly larger on the bottom. Image sizes have been chosen to fit in most standard size pre-cut mats, saving you money on custom matting. If you’d like to know the exact dimensions of an image just let us know and we will gladly provide you with the specifics.

How are your photographs printed?

{unless otherwise noted in the individual item description}

All sizes of open editions and limited editions that are 16×20 inches and larger are archival inkjets printed by a professional photo lab on luster paper for a lifetime of enjoyment.

Limited editions that are 11×14 inches and smaller are traditional photographs that are printed by a professional photo lab on mat paper for a lifetime of enjoyment.

Do you offer framing?

Shipping costs make it quite expensive to purchase frames online and have them delivered outside of London; most of our photographs are listed as standard sizes and can be displayed fairly inexpensively with widely available off-the-shelf materials. Click here to see a list of standard artwork frame sizes.

If you’re in the London, Ontario area and you’d like your photograph framed just let me know and I’ll put together a custom order for you and personally deliver it to your door. Our photographs are professionally framed here in London, Ontario using a beautiful, thick, 1″ wide black wood frame, non-glare glass, and white archival matting. Click here to see a 16×20 inch photograph in a 20×24 inch frame.
