As much as I hate to admit it, fall is right around the corner. And I’m not ready! But let’s be real, am I ever ready for the end of summer?! Nuh-uh.
That said, our home could definitely use a little bit of a refresh. Heck it could use a good tidy. We’ve been going fast and furious wrapping up projects while the sun is shining, and there’s tools and other project remnants scattered throughout our house. So while I clean up a bit, how about I let four of my design friends tell you about their favourite colours for fall decor right now.
Greens
Gillian, designer at Gillian Moran Interiors, says “I am loving greens right now! Especially when paired with crisp whites or warm greys, it’s absolutely gorgeous!“.
Rich Moody Hues
Helen, interior decorator at Bliss Studio Design, says “For fall, I’m all about warm, neutral backdrops! I’m loving rich moody hues like Iron Mountain from Benjamin Moore. This colour is a dark and bold gray-brown that has much needed warmth as the weather gets chilly! It’s fabulous for use indoors and out. In a current project, I’m using this colour on a panelled wall to highlight a royal blue velvet sofa and brass accents for dramatic effect!“.
“Hale Navy from Benjamin Moore is another personal favourite as we move into Fall. An incredibly versatile colour, Hale Navy pairs perfectly with burnt autumn hues and is an impeccable compliment to natural wood tones.“.
“Lastly, I personally am a believer that you can both wear and design with white after Labour Day! Simply White by Benjamin Moore is a great fall choice. Not cream, nor stark, just a fresh sunny white that is perfect when sunny days are few and far between!“.
Mustard Yellow
Lisa, designer at Lisa Furtado Interiors, says “I usually love neutrals but loving deep mustard yellow at the moment!“.
Yellow and Orange
Alisa, interior designer at WHD Interiors, says “I really like the pops of yellow and orange. Lately I’ve seen neutrals with lots of texture, such a fun new, fresh look.“.
